Children's
"Hitmen" courses are of necessity taught seperately from adults.
However, please note that parents, guardians or the approved instructors
of those under fifteen must be present throughout the seminar.
Children's
courses are for those of five years of age, up to those aged fifteen.
Those who have reached sixteen years of age are able to participate
on the adult F.E.A.R. Seminars with "The Hitmen".
Because
there is no need for children to know many of the aspects of self-protection
that are covered on adult courses (much of the adult course content is
inappropriate for children), much more time is spent of the children's
seminars covering physical skills, co-ordination drills, self-affirmation
and confidence building.
A great
deal of attention is paid to anti-abduction,"Stranger Danger"
and assertiveness exercises.

Children are taught many skills on a Hitman course, including:
Physical
self-defence techniques such as blocks, strikes, kicks and escapes from
holds and grabs, and a moral framework in which to place those skills.
C.E.C.
(pronounced "Seck") Standing for: Clear Emergency Communication.
Unfortunately, history has shown that many people who ordinarily would
not hesitate to assist a distressed child may be reluctant to do so due
to "social discomfort" (for fear of interfering or intruding
in a family matter or similar). Our methods and practises enable the child
to clearly communicate their need for immediate help from passers-by /
witnesses. This removes any social awkwardness and frees members of the
public to act in the child's interest. An example: Children are taught
to try to make direct eye contact with at least two of the non-threatening
public in the vicinity, and (even if they are alone on a "deserted"
street) to shout loudly, clearly and repeatedly "Please help me!
This is NOT my Father" or "Please help me! I don't know this
woman"! etc. etc.
Persons
of Safety / Places of Refuge - children are taught always to break away
and to seek a suitable person and an appropriate place to seek help.
Assertiveness,
groundholding and creating a "reaction gap" (a space between
themselves and anyone who makes them feel uncomfortable or anxious).
Self-worth
and personal affirmation skills - children learn to TRUST their instincts,
to BELIEVE they are valuable and KNOW they are worth defending.
Testimonial:
" (The "Hitman" course is) ..... great for kids. It
addresses what is for me the single most important aspects of a child's
existence - self-value, self-worth and confidence. had a wonderful time,
thank you." .
